This album wasn’t really my thing but I’m happy Mr. Posner was able to do something he wanted and produce something with so much passion. Good job Mike! Keep up the good work!

  • True to himself

The album does not have top-40 hits on it; however, this is not the goal of the album. Posner wants fans to listen from beginning to end. The album should take you on a journey instead of providing three minutes of mindless pleasure that you may receive from typical pop songs. He even starts off the album by saying you should not listen to it if you are not willing to pay full attention to it for 52 minutes. I would encourage others to listen to the whole album through and through before criticizing. If you’ve followed Mike Posner for the past few years, you should not be surprised by this album. He’s being true to himself and not the “brand” others think he should be. This is discussed in a number of his pieces of work and in interviews.

Everyone panning this album may be missing the intent. Sometimes the truth hurts and is tough to swallow. You really do need to listen to it all the way through as the first track asks. I definitely related and it’s a breath of fresh air to hear truth put to a melody.
