This collection of songs are awesome. To hear the roots of country, blues, pop, and rock is quite enlightening. The quality of the album is very good. Some of these recordings are almost 100 years old! Kudos to Ken Burns for the documentary and all these artists who have moved my spirit and touched my heart.
  • A History Lesson to be Enjoyed

This is meant to be a retrospect of the history of Country Music, and those whose lives and music were a great influence on the ones who followed. Garth, Reba, Tim, etc. may be prominent at this time but only time will tell if they will be as influential as were the Carters, Hank, Johnny, Patsy and Loretta. Yes, I do “love” Reba, Garth, Alan, and others but only time will tell if they will have the staying power to have the influence of the Carters, etc.
  • Best country music compilation ever!!!

This soundtrack encompasses everything that is classic country music. Many of these songs I grew up with. Some of them I had forgotten about until I saw it listed. As soon as I started playing them, I knew every lyric like I listened to it every day. I just wished Alabama was on there. They had so many hit songs and none were on there.
  • Just okay

Where's Garth? Where's Reba? Where's Tim? Where's Faith? (just to start). I can make a better playlist easy.
  • Problem is

Rodney Crowell won 6 Grammy's for Diamonds & Dirt, has a direct connection to Willie, Emmy Lou, Cash and Vince Gill and yet this collection contains no representation of that. This is radio fodder, no deep dives and of course Hank Jr. was left out of the mix as well. Weak.

Great classic songs from iconic artists who defined country music over the years. Can’t wait for the documentary!
