This didn’t impress me a ton when it first came out for some reason, but now I can’t stop listening to it. I think The Carpenter is still my favorite of theirs by a hair, but True Sadness is right there. I love how different these guys get song-to-song, let alone album-to-album. Musically diverse, lyrically deep and crushing in all the best ways.

I love the Avett Brother album “I and Love and You,” where every song in the album was so good. This one has only one song I don’t really like, May it Last, however this album has some that should be in discussion for best Avett Brother songs of all time. No Hard Feelings, Ain’t No Man, Wish I was, and Divorce Separation Blues are all top-tier Avett Brothers songs. To me, nothing will ever top I and Love and You, but this is still a very good album
