Every Easter I listen to Jesus Christ Superstar and this is the first time that I have found the original soundtrack. The others I have heard were good but nothing like the original. It is a spiritual experience to listen to this soundtrack. The actors really brought the emotions of the time to life for me.

As a kid I remember the movie and bought the album, my cousin gave me an 8track my first car had a cassette player so I bought the cassette and then the CD And now I just added it to my iPhone library I lOVE Ian Gillan from Deep Purple and he’s a perfect voice for Jesus I saw Ted Neely as Jesus live at the theater Which was magic! I would totally have love to see Chris Cornell play the role as Jesus Too …. Such an amazing show that would have been

This is the original concept album that started it all. This is the mastepice that inspired the movie which has it's own soundtrack album and of course the original broadway production and anything else that has come since. This album features the great voice of Ian Gillan as Jesus from the group Deep Purple who eventually became the singer for Black Sabbath on the Born Again album and supporting tour. Band members also include members of the Band, Mad Dogs and Englishmen and of coures Yvonne Eliman herself. Simply the best.

Yvonne Elliman's singing, from her heart, on "I Don't Know How To Love Him" brings me to tears every time I hear it. What a voice! What a talent! What a great song!
