  • The BEST so far

    By zzzzski
From the early days with his band to his solo career, his music is always evolving and fresh. By far this album is his best, though all the others were too, I don’t think he has a peak. Just keeps climbing. This album, every song is stirring with emotion and praise to our Lord Jesus Christ. Every song are hits, even the first single Red Letters. Though different than the others, but when compared to the other, it’s ballad of the album. Great job. After all these months, still spinning in the car.
  • Pretty good job, but some concerns

Pretty good job guys, but some of her sound like we are in a rock concert😢😢, my personal favorites are Let It Rain (Is There Anybody) and Night Like This, also, I’m always active on Minecraft, so if you would like to talk to me, my username is DaHashtagQueen1
  • Wow!

    By deblovesflowers
This album has just blown me away. It took me aback at first cause it’s just different from his others. But wow! The message and the music are so inspiring to me. Once again Crowders music has blessed me so much.
  • Gets in to my soul

    By LOVEHWY395
I had to listen to this several times to get it. At first I thought it sounded strange from Crowder. Wow has my opinion changed. I can’t listen to it enough! It really gets in to my soul. When he sings on Golgotha Hill “and the devil went down !” I get goose bumps and shake my fist at the devil!!!!!
  • Love it

  • Not the typical crowder sound

    By Ash&Zach
As much as I want to like it, and I did purchase it before even listening. Now that I’m about halfway through it’s really just not the same. It’s added rap/electronic beat drop on almost every single song takes away I feel like. I really hope an acoustic version is to follow. If you like electronic sounds you may still enjoy this.
  • Something's missing...

    By JR620
Something's missing here. The songs feel impersonal and distant. The depth, grit and unique personality I have come to appreciate in his music are lost in this overproduced and generic sounding set. The acoustic guitar, banjo, harmonica, etc. are all still there but, are treated as synthetic sound bites for the most part - not "present" in the mix. On past albums, the tention between the conventional instrumentation and synth sounds made for an interesting edginess. Here, everything (instrumentally and vocally) seems to have been put through a musical "food processor" and comes across as homogenized, bland and unengaging. Feels like a dance mix version of an album that has a better original recording. And then there's the electronic drums... on EVERY song... No acoustic drums at all except for a possible cameo appearance of a bass drum and some cymbals on the final two songs. Difficult to tell because there is so much reverb in the background mix. I want to like this album, but I don't. I respect Mr. Crowder and want to support his musical endeavors. I appreciate that he continues to experiment with his sound. Many seem to like this album. However, I know I would not listen to this if I purchased it. Should he offer an all acoustic "front porch" version of this album, that might be more interesting. We'll see what his future offerings are like. If he continues in this vein, he has lost me.
