Not doing it. I own the majority of these songs. He had superb moments in his solo career and some horrendous ones. Most of the songs on here are retreads or average solo tunes. To be straight up, not sure why all the Nothing Compares to You accolades are out there. Its a good verision, not great. Its funny how all the people that love it are late to the show. Cleaning my Gun is the best Chris Cornell song in a decade, probably longer. Yes it hits home, but that truly shows his songwriting and vocal ability when his soul is poured into a song. Not some cover tune.

Not sure which solo career @lklklklklk is referring to but Chris had a great deal of success on his own and his solo stuff (go listen to Sunshower) allowed him to push in directions that he was unable to as a great frontman for bands like Soundgarden and Audioslave. This album won the Grammy, posthumously, for best rock performance and is a great farewell to one of the great rock voices of all time and one of the best frontmen of his generation. Cornell is brilliant at transferring raw emotion and passion from his heart, through his voice, to the listener.

Chris Cornell was an amazingly talented musician, no matter what he sang (his cover of Sinead O’Conner’s Nothing Compares 2 U brings a level of pain to that song equal only to Sinead’s). Horrific, tragic loss, and a beautiful album.

One of the most prolific artists of all time and that includes his solo career. The rendition of Billie Jean is pretty awesome in its own way. Ignore the bad review above.

This entire collection was very well thought out, great tunes, but it’s that voice that pulls you in. CALL ME A DOG will leave you speechless,NOTHING COMPARES 2 U is the best version of this song anywhere. I was very unfamiliar with this artist till I heard of his untimely death, what a loss, the man was awesomely talented. This collection will not disappoint!
  • Pass on his solo albums.

One star for his truly god awful solo career. So many do the ill advised solo album. He was one of, if not the worst. God awful sappy song after another. Even the so - called rock tracks were trash. He was much, much, much better fronting both Soundgarden, Audioslave & Temple Of The Dog.
  • The golden voice.
