Been a huge fan of the Avett Brothers for years. This side project is just as great. Amazing!

I am a subpar guitar strummer who does not have a lot of money. I bought Seth's signature Martin after listening to this album twice. It "Cost too much to not think it through." - Seth Avett I was a little late to the Avett Brothers party. The radio songs did not initially grab me. But one day, I started sampling the live albums and to my shock, became a giant fan. I traveled to a different state to see them recently and absolutely felt the love I heard on the albums. I was hooked. As a Avett greenhorn, I had no idea Seth had this side project. Good effin' Lord! This guy's (and Scott's) intent is clearly to make the world a better place. Seth's positive intent, mixed with his mystical voice, easily qualifies him to be my favorite performer ever. The electric flair with which he finishes single syllable words is otherworldly. If I was religious, I would have little doubt he was the 2nd coming. This album should be taught in elementary schools across the world. Conclusion: Buy this. Share this!

This album has everything you could want from a singer/songwriter. Seth Avett shows some of his best work yet, as he continues to write poetic lyrics and make authentic sounds. Seth's style is one that all true music-lovers can appreciate. He has learned to balance his album's well, including those he creates with The Avett Brothers crew, and it shows on this album in particular. The range of genres within this album includes everything from mild grunge rock to classical piano. You'd be hard-pressed to find a more diverse, high quality collection of songs from one artist on one album.

i really like it!! he avoids cliches while still making very simple, straightforward heart based record. Its touching and gets me closer to my own heart. The production is some of the best Ive heard in a long time.

Despite the fact that there is no better sound than Seth and his brother Scott together at the same time behind a microphone, the acoustic art behind this album reflects the true talent this man has. It's albums like this that make me proud to be a fan of Seth Avett. Well done, sir!
