  • It Never Gets Old...

Yes, we've been down this path before a few times with Modern Talking hits and remix sets, but somehow it never gets old. Thomas' new recordings of original material in recent years only receives moderate attention from fans and critics, so one can't blame the artist for once again revisiting the material that made him an 80s icon. "Lunatic" is the lead single and, though an original track, it evokes the Modern Talking feeling as much as any of the familiar hits on this album. They say you can't go back, and most artists whince when they are pressured to do so, but you won't hear any hesitation in Thomas' voice. The arrangements are fairly fresh and he does a solid job with his ageless voice of reviving the music we have loved for decades. There's nothing ground-breaking here, but it wasn't intended to be. I thoroughly enjoyed the trip and welcome the next one, and the next one, and the next one. (And catch Anders' rendition of the early disco classic "Love Is In The Air" on a separate single release--very nicely done!)

Thomas calls this album History but all he did was re-sing Modern Talking hits without Dieter Bohlen. The guy who sings instead of Bohlen is awful and the remixes are subpar. I am giving this 2 stars instead of one because I really like the Lunatic song that I haven't heard before.

I love the new rhythm and style of it, 100years and lunatic are the best :), so looking forward to all brand new album as well.
