Jewels’ voice is so peaceful and sweet. Just in listening to the sample snippets of each song I felt relaxed and nearly nodded off. I had only been searching for a version of Lullaby and Goodnight (Brahm’s lullaby) to play for my daughter and stumbled upon this lovely album. Downloaded the whole thing.
  • A Vocally Inappropriate Lullaby Album (This Is Just My Opinion)

If anyone has read my review for this album before I edited it, I made some harsh comments about Jewel's voice on the album, calling it "horrid". I would like to apologize for my comments, but I still believe Jewel's voice is very unfitting for lullabies as evidenced by her album, Lullaby. The instrumentation is nice, though—mostly acoustic guitars and occasional strings, which could easily put people to sleep when played right. The sad part about this album, as I mentioned before, is Jewel's vocals, which are very bright, high-pitched, breathy at times, and very piercing at others. While her pitch seems alright, her vibrato, if you can call it that, is not what I would consider "true" since it's more the volume that is changing rather than the pitch. If you like or know someone who likes Jewel, I would recommend this album. For anyone else, I suggest you listen to the previews before purchasing to see if you like it or not.

I think this is one of the best lullaby albums ever. My son is 10 and still goes to sleep every night to the album. He loves it ans so do I!

We have had this CD since I was pregnant with my now seven-year-old. 7 1/2 years later we are still playing it at bedtime for him! We have just about worn it out and should probably buy another one, so my other son can have his own to listen to! The songs are calming, soothing, and her voice is perfect for lullabies.

Jewel’s voice is absolutely beautiful. I play these songs at night as I put my 5 1/2 year old son to sleep. He loves them and asks for them. The music is very calming. My favorite songs are Sov Gott, Simple Gifts, Braum’s Lullaby, and Sweet Dreams.
  • Beautiful record for babies
