In a sea of mediocrity, this album is a deadly harmonic undertow, perfectly in sync and melodically pure. A little bit country, and little bit avant folk, you won't find much better.

I've been playing this album over and over on repeat for a good 2 days. I'm a Jesca Hoop fan and just happened to search online to see if she was working on a new album and came across this collab album via her website. It's unfortunate I haven't heard really anything about this album until stumbling across it, and boy am I glad I did. What an amazing soundscape with beautifully textured harmonies where all of the songs flow together extremely well. It reminds me a bit of the folky collaboration of Robert Plant and Allison Kraus but this collab album feels more heartfelt, has a bit slower pace at times and doesn't have any country flair to it like the 'Raising Sand' album. You can definitely hear the musical styles and undertones from both Jesca Hoop and Sam Beam of Iron & Wine throughout the entire album. Is it just my ears (or possibly bad headphones?) but does the awesome song 'Sailor to Siren' sound a bit over modulated (I've been hearing pops and clicks from the guitar) or is it just the iTunes version that I'm listening to? Regardless, it's an awesome album that you should definitely buy if you are a Jesca Hoop, Iron & Wine, or folk music fan. I highly recommend this incredible and beautiful album.

Admittedly, I wasn't sure about this pairing when I first heard the album was coming out. I've heard Hoop's music before and I've just been lukewarm toward it. But, what they've created together just plain works. The harmonies are outstanding. Valley Clouds is one of my favorites.

I'm a big iron & wine fan but haven't been a fan of the more recent stuff and this album is the Sam Beam style I've been missing. I had never heard of Jessica Hoop before this but I love her voice and the harmonies are great!

Wow, at first I was a little apprehensive on the whole idea. Because Hoop has always provided such philosophical and avant-garde music. This is certainly not Hoop’s usual. Much more Folk, but roots strain from all types of trees now don’t they? This is actually quite a lovely album. And I taste Hoop’s lyrics pursed inside the duo. They sound absolutely stunning together. Each song a gorgeous take on love. Recommended for everyone! I am so shocked this does not have a lot of ratings. Some of the most beautiful folk duos I have ever heard. Midas Tongue is dark and ominous, thats when I knew the album was gold. I can see this album playing at very nice times in my life. Kiss Me Quick is paralleling my life at the moment, and its wonderful. Thank you guys! I look forward to more HOOP THOUGH! Cannot wait to see Pegasi come to life. Amazing job.
