Is the Is Are

This record is really inconsistent; there are three great tracks (Out of Mind, Under the Sun, and Dopamine), but the rest of the album just doesn't have the magic that Oshin had. I think Cole waited to long to get this out and ended up overthinking it. But there are certainly good songs here if you take the time to listen a few times.

Best layered atmospheric music I’ve heard since Loveless

Cool sounds on this album. I got into Diiv originally because they have a sort of mellow post punk/Joy Division sound. They have evolved a bit sonce their last album. Still don't know to pronounce their name correctly since none of my friends are into them.

The title track is literally "That's when I reach for my revolver"

Absolutely one of my favorite albums and artists ever. Seen them twice live and they are absolutely dazzling. Well done guys, love forever

Is the Is Are does something phenomenal that most great shoegaze albums tend to do — It presents powerful, dissonant and abrasive walls of distortion while somehow managing to be melancholy, dreamy and beautiful at the same time. With 17 tracks adding to over 60 minutes, Is the Is Are really is the perfect shoegaze album for 2016.

This albums great. I'd love to hear Sky sing on more tracks next time and more reverse guitars like on the title track but I really dig this entire album

When I see a review use the word "atmospheric" I take that as my que to tune out.
