  • Takes me right back to mid-'80s old school R&B

A true songstress, arguably under-appreciated by the industry. If only modern R&B could take more heed to her devotion to basics -- a singer sings. BTW, 'Same Ole Love', track 7 -- sholuld say '(365 Days A Year)', not '(365 Days a Week)'. Both you and Amazon Music both have it 'Week'. Nowhere in the lyrics does she say anything but '365 Days A Year' 🤷

Vocally, arrangement wise, and production wise; This is one of the most beautiful album's of all time. From beginning to end.

Loved EVERY song on this album. While there have been a few songs I enjoyed from artists coming after Anita Baker, she surpasses her contemporaries. This came out in the mud 1980’s, and no female solo artist has topped it. Every song is smooth, has it’s own rhythm. She actually sings, you understand the words, and no hip hop bridge to give it market value. She stands with the likes of Whitney, Patti Labelle, Chaka Khan, and Aretha. Each lady has their own style, yet there is heart and soul in their music. I don’t care for today’s artists precisely because the soul has died.

I was in europe for two years and when i got back in 88’ i went to visit a friend in LA. she said, i got something special i think you’ll like and put this vinyl on a very nice stereo system. well, of course i was blown away and have been a big fan ever since. this recording deserves the the very best sonics and volume to truly enjoy all the nuances. crank it up and enjoy!!

  • Same Ole Love Title

iTunes, please update the song title for “Same Ole Love”. It’s 365 days of the year, not week. Loyal fans such as myself have probably made it known, and I am echoing their concerns.
