Great Story. Good Character Development. Quality Acting and the special effects were never substituted for a good story. From introduction to conclusion, this story was worth a Watch.

The season was looking good, but in episode 11 they finally revealled the Master vampire and he looked terrible. It looks more like an unscarey dorky evil clown ogre. Traditionally evil demons have a V-shaped head, not an oval egg plant shaped head. Del Toro what were you thinking! Don't worry, I still like you Del Toro and give you 5 stars for the Shape of Water.

It’s not a masterpiece, but I enjoyed Season 1. I felt it had a strong pilot and largely delivered. Some parts were poorly conceived—the clownish visage of the big bad being one of them (oh my!), but aside from Dutch, I like the ensemble cast even if most are somewhat unlikable people. Not having read the books, I’m not sure what’s coming and plan to stick around for Season 2.

To those of you complaining about the ad on the episode grow the heck up, its 15 frakking seconds.

I bought this based on the free first episode and that seems to be the only interesting episode. I degrades quickly into a cheap TV procedural drama with tacked on CDC hero fantasies.
  • Looking forward to being paid by Apple

Businesses pay to run ads, right? And we consumers pay a premium for shows from Apple, so that we don’t have to watch ads. By sneaking the ads into our purchase, we’re getting a bad deal. We now must suffer watching them for as long as we own the shows. Our perpetual expense, Apple’s gain. Seems reasonable that Apple should stick with the original deal, and either remove the ads, refund the purchases, or pay a royalty to anyone suffering this perpetual advertising.
