Hi! This is going to be a pretty long review, because I have a lot of things to say about this show. First of all, I think the idea of a crossover show is really fun, and overall, I think it’s an okay show. I haven’t seen iCarly, so I don’t have much to say about Sam or that side of the show, but VICTORiOUS is one of my favorite if not my favorite show of all time, and Cat is my favorite character from it. But I was a little confused about some of it. Does Cat continue going to Hollywood Arts? How do we never see or hear about her friends there? Why doesn’t she talk about her brother very much anymore? Where did Dice come from? And the plots, honestly, are a bit ridiculous at times. As for Cat being seemingly more airheaded, I believe that that’s because of the people she’s around and her being the main character. (Yeah, she was a main character in VICTORiOUS too, but there were more people in that show that were given a lot of lines and major plots.) We didn’t hear as much from Cat in VICTORiOUS, so it makes sense that she shows off a bit more oddness when she’s front and center. And the others actually address her strangeness instead of ignoring it like the Hollywood Arts folks did a lot. I don’t have a lot to say about Sam, but I thought that they made quite a pair. They were both kind of funny, I loved the references to the other shows, and overall it’s enjoyable and silly. Not groundbreakingly good like VICTORiOUS, not nearly as funny, mature, or complex, but pretty good. I just think that if they’d covered a few plot holes and shaped more realistic plots, maybe had a couple of their previous costars make cameo appearances, it could be much better. Overall, good character choices, some chuckle-worthy stuff—not terrible, especially since it’s not meant to stand alone, really, as it’s own TV show.
