In a city where science is used to develop supernatural abilities, Kamijo’s powers are laughably weak. Luckily for Index, the guy’s got a lot of heart. Index is running from sorcerers who want the magical knowledge stored in her memory. Kamijo wields the magic-negating power found in his hand against anyone who threatens Index – but it’s his loyalty that offers the best hope of keeping her safe.

Nothing really bad about it but nothing really exciting either. Maybe I just had higher expectations because of the price, just not worth the $50 in my opinion.
  • It's a bit expensive for only around 23 episodes !

I have just purchased the session not realizing till the last second how Much it was! Most 15 episode anime are usually around 15$! I personally think I tunes should lower the prices they would sell more of this sessions! I personally haven't seen the show yet so I can't give it many stars
  • Good series, decent dub

If you like magic and psychic action then you'll like this. The only things I didn't really like about this series was Index's voice- she sounds very annoying. I watched up to where they hadn't dubbed it but it was very easy for me to switch back and forth between dubbed and subbed. If you can take her grating voice then go for it. The mini teacher sounds a little odd too but it's not that bad. Kuroko however is a bad avenue to bring fan service with (the pervert thing is way overdone) and is just plain annoying and out of place. Thankfully she doesn't show up too often. If you like this show you may watch a Certain Scientific Railgun which is a spinoff series to index and also has two seasons.

3 stars cuz the main character brags about his bad luck most of the anime, which counters his overpowered ability so I don't get y he is complaining also he has hot chicks to go along with it. Anyways a lot of action and a lot of blood more like guilty crown which I like so compared to it this is way better.
  • Favorite series, but....

This is probably my favorite series of all time, right up there with One Piece and Negima!? The characters are great, the story is great, and the action is some of the fastest and most impressive I've ever seen. I've watched all of the subbed versions via a fansub, and was stoked to find out they were dubbing the series... But... After listening to the dubs, I have to say, the original Japanese voice actors put a lot more emotion and energy into their lines. As far as the other characters go, I'm willing to let it slide, but with Last Order...she just sounds a little too old for a mini version of Misaka. I can forgive the tiny teacher, Miss Komoe, because she's supposed to be older than she looks, but I've always seen Last Order as a hyper-energetic little child, and the voice actor should reflect that. Other than the lack-luster dub, the story is still the best aspect of this series. If you don't want to listen to the Original with subs, go ahead and check this out. You won't be disappointed!
  • Will there be a season 2?

I just hope that season 2 will be released on iTunes soon because this season was excellent, plus I hope it comes in dubbed and subbed versions so everyone can enjoy it.

I personally enjoy dubs because subs tend to have flaws in the translations. Story was engaging. Characters were engaging. Voice actors were pretty good.
  • Good enough to enjoy

This is no Fullmetal Alchemist, but it is a good anime series nonetheless. Index is a lovable character, and Kamijo is a virtual embodiment of determination. The series runs in an "arc" format, with a single story every four episodes or so. The arcs are not disconnected, as earlier events are often referred back to and future events hinted at. The series' concept/feel is successfully fresh and unique, in spite of inhabiting the well-explored genre of supernatural-powered characters clashing. Magical Index is fairly clean, except for Kuroko's questionable antics and some unnecessary fanservice that starts popping up later in the series. Personally, I don't have a solid preference for subbed or dubbed anime; it depends on how I feel the voices fit the characters in both versions of a given anime that determines my preference for that anime. I watched this one in sub, and have only seen a small part in dub, but Index's english voice is the same as May Chang's from Fullmetal Alchemist, which may provide some distraction if you are familiar with that series (and if you're not, drop this anime and go watch FMA right now!).
  • Good series but kind of a bad dub

Giving this 4 stars because of my love of the series, BUT! the english dub is disappointing. Especially with accelerator not sounding at all like his usually crazy self like in the original. Touma also sounds bored haft the time and needs to sound more lively. Well in all good story, but weak dub.
