  • Journey to the Edge of the Universe--Terrible narration (but great graphics!)

The narrative script for this episode was terrible, filled with so many subjective words to describe things in the universe such as "beautiful" versus "ugly" etc. The journey part was not portrayed well at all, "we are so far from home!" came off as just silly. And within that came other judgements like "we shouldn't despair, we should rejoice…" etc. It comes down to a narration that was so dominated by terrible ornamentation of language that the scientific facts were barely audible. Really for someone with little to no knowledge of astronomy, as a lot of the information is relatively basic, who enjoys fluffy narration. For a program from National Geographic, I am very disappointed. The graphics, however, were very amazing. That is the reason I am giving two stars instead of one. I would definitely watch the episode again--on mute.

I have never been so speechless in my life. Nothing beats the quality, so many questions, so many answers- to the biggest bang ever recorded. $3. Three bucks. What a price for such an amazing piece.

I watched this on television, then bought it on BluRay, then found it here and bought it one more time... The Imagery is fantastic and Alec Baldwin's naration is like a warm blanket and a chilly evening. It takes you on a journey through the planets and other objects you might find in our solar system, then through the galaxy, then through the rest of the universe. I can imagine this being projected in a planetarium or in IMAX.

Absolutely fantastic! "Journey to the Edge of the Universe" is one of the finest documentaries I've seen on the cosmos - visually astounding.
