  • A Clever, Slick, and Suspenseful Anime Series

    By "Ollie" Knox
I love Death Note! Death Note is one of the best anime TV Series in the world! The storyline is amazing but not complicated or cliché. The characters are clever and they will stimulate your mind. Just when you think there is no coming out of this one the characters take a different route that the spectator does not expect.

  • Fantastic!

    By Kevinmichaelkeating
This was the first anime I have watched all the way through. It's characters are great and interesting. The show also makes you really think about who's right and wrong, and even if you do choose a side you'll still question it. This show will keep you watching nonstop and make you want it to never end, so buy this anime, though it's also on Netflix.

This series helped me threw 6th grade and it's really interesting for me to think that the creator of the series had to come up with, all in his head. Please watch, you won't regret it.
  • Absolutely Brilliant!

    By YODADDY!!!!
Even if you're "not into anime", or whatever the case may be, I recommend giving Death Note a shot. I fell in love with this series, and not "because I'm an anime/manga fan" or "its violent and cool" or other overly general and possibly biased reasons of that nature. While I do certainly appreciate anime and its many styles, and I appreciate things that are 'action packed' (everyone has their style), Death Note is a masterpiece with many brilliant aspects— it just also *happens* to be anime and violent, if you see my point. The character development is amazingly executed, as well as the quality and style of the animations and visuals. In this media, the music and sound effects, of course, add to the experience of the story. I was on the edge of my seat through the duration of each of these otherwise short 20-minute-long episodes; so much of the plot occurs in one episode, but it flows so beautifully and doesn't feel at all forced upon the viewer. When I reached the final episode of the series, I wished that I could simply continue watching forever. The story itself is very thought-provoking, for there are many deep underlying messages within the overall story that can change perspectives to change about human values and morals. The supernatural aspects in the story symbolize these mind-bending themes, which in turn actually send out a rather ironic vibe— they make the story feel more realistic and more relatable than they otherwise would be on the surface. I love Death Note for these and many other reasons. I did not watch this because it was anime. I didn't watch this because it was popular or violent or dark and mature. I watched this because it was a masterpiece. Still, if the above mentioned ARE your reasons, well then I guess my reasons are just a big plus :) I highly recommend this brilliant series.

This was the first anime I had ever watched, and it left a good impression! It's so dark, and smart, it will blow you away!
