Give it a chance! For fans of Star Trek TOS, TNG,ect... or just looking for a fun science fiction series not basking in depressing angry cardboard characters, overblown exhausting space battles, and a future ever-so bleak; this show gives us a new glimps into what Gene Rodenberry had in mind before CBS crapped all over it. I'm not a fan of Seth MacFarland for his cartoons, but praise him for this beautiful tribute to a world he obviously longs for. Season 1 was a nice first glimpse into this warm world, and Season 2 was good for defining the characters we've come to know... Bring on Season 3! It's funny, it's thoughtful, it's smart. (Watch it for the episode about Facebook/Twitter alone) I truly hope this show lasts a good long time. Until 20 years from now when someone reboots it as a dark, moody, action series that true fans will be repulsed by.
  • First season was great, second not so much

The second season was not as good as instead of focusing on new interstellar technologies and ideas, they instead decided to focus each episode on one character’s backstory which was super boring. I would’ve liked a duplication of season one with new technologies and ideas rather than getting to know each character more. The backstories were really boring and dragged down how much I liked the show. It went from me being super excited and thinking about the different technologies in season 1 to trying to keep my attention to make it through the second season. Producers of the show - food for thought. Make season 3 and the rest of the series like season 1.

i wasn’t sure what to expect ...a show that in every way seems a clone of “star trek”. it feels largely familiar but where it differs is the writing, which is occasionally more humorous (without going overboard) but is also often deeper and really goes into subjects that most “star trek” series only faintly mention; this is especially true on the later episodes as the cast and crew really own their roles.
