This show is wonderful. I saw all two seasons that were available, as of now. The plots, the emotional drama, the humanness, the sets and visuals are much better than the original Star Trek, and the characters aren't militaristic like robots. They have great acting skills, color, cinematography, imaginative reality. The robot is very good, but I would like it to be a tad bit edgier. The poor reviews are not considerate and harsh. The exterior camera shots are really exciting and make me believe that it could be real. All star trek shows, including this one, do not get the correct viewing of the speeding stars with tails like comets to simulate that the shop goes faster than light. The actual speed of warp drive would not result in fast blurry stars passing fast, as seen through the windows or from exterior views. But the star imagery, the exterior views of stars, planets, solar systems, galaxies, nebulas, etc., are absolutely beautiful. I liked it a lot. I hope that they continue. This is great value for the great quality of acting, drama, and excitement. To be seen several times over.

When people are PAID to "watch" TV or movies, how much trust can we put in their reviews? Depends on WHO is PAYING the bills, I guess. Well, there is NO guessing that The Orville is GREAT. It is Star Trek UPDATED, or Firefly with some social order. The thing is, its INFLUENCED through years of social programming about "outter space". The Orville is great on its own and just as wonderful as an omage to all that went before. Just watch it - if you like it, watch some more. If you don't like it, watch something else. EASY...

Just finished watching The Orville Season 1, and I have to say that Seth McFarlane is indeed one of Hollywood’s top Trekkies. It felt amazing watching The Orville as it felt like Classic Trek, Relatable Characters, Humor, Good Stories, and it even tackles current days issues better than Star Trek did. If you’re a Star Trek fan then this is a must watch.

...this has turned into the best show on television. The plots are worthy of any SciFi show and the acting is great. I am eager to watch season 2 now.

An enjoyable show that mixes a bit of humor with serious Star Trek science fiction. Of course, haters will hate, but for me it scrubs away the days stress.
