  • Thank God Moffat is leaving!

I’ve been a fan of Doctor Who since I was old enough to watch TV and catch the then current 80’s and 90’s episodes that ran on PBS and then the older ones when they were re-run. Every iteration of the Doctor has its ups and downs and that’s almost entirely due to the writer. Every single Steven Moffat episode has been horrible. Stuck with this romance that takes up all of the plot and action and makes the Doctor look like an stumbling drunk in love with his new female companion that he is so totally in love with; each one right? Steven Moffat would have the Doctor helpless without his sonic screwdriver or just helpless in general save for Clara and he ruined the Master. Thank all that is good and decent that his was his last run and that’s reason enough to rejoice. Sad we lost Peter Capaldi but at least he went out on a good note with the return of the true cybermen - not the robots we usually see.
  • A very disappointing season

As a very long time Doctor Who fan, I found this season very disappointing. The acting was good and, though there were a few episodes that had me hoping the writers were finally getting over their slump, for the most part the episodes were completely predictable. The last half of the season had me wondering when and how they were going to "jump the shark" and I think that finally happened near the end of the "World Enough and Time" episode. I found it kind of sad to hear Moffat gushing in that episode's Inside Look about how "brilliant" that particular plot twist was. I can only hope that the next season is better.

I never that I'd say this, but this season might be the reason I stop watching Dr Who until they can put the excitement, fun and enjoyment back into the series. I have been an avid fan since Tom Baker in the 70's. This has been a underwhelming season. When Clara finally left the show after overstaying her visit by 2 years I thought maybe Peter Capaldi might get the chance to shine. No such luck. The new companion, Bill, is also a diappointing character. I don't know if this is her first acting gig or not, but I do hope she is not here next season. Hopefully, next year there with be a new and more envigorating Dr. Who and a companion who is at least in the class of a Sarah Jane, Amy & Rory, Rose or Martha. Please not another Donna or Bill.
  • Saved by its Momentum

If you like your morally strident political messages delivered with all the subtlety of a jackhammer to the face, then this is the season for you. It makes clear what must be a deliberate tightening of the shows’ target audience toward people like the current “most helpful” reviewer. If you don’t get a thrill from putting down the politically out of step and want to laugh at a mad sifi show then, well, The Doctor is still here and the actor who plays him is a good actor, even the new companion is played by a good actor and brings a different kind of quirky fun to the show. The writers so far haven’t found out how to capitalize on Capaldi’s strengths but for the most part he holds it together. The show still has a few good moments if you can stick with it and ignore the eye-rolling ones. I like this show, but this series was barely worth my time.

Series 10 of Doctor Who has been a really strong series so far. While not every episode has been amazing, you can always count on this series to be adventurous, funny, exciting, and tense. My only criticism is that some episodes could use some more action.
  • So Far, So Great!

After seeing ten episodes of this exhilarating series, it's safe to say that Peter Capaldi will be going out with a bang. I have absolutely loved every one of the ten episodes so far, which is not something that happens often with Doctor Who. Top notch story telling and of course, Bill, the new companion is brilliant. Wouldn't give it any other rating.
  • Not up to par

Very poor writing. The new companion acts as though she's seen every episode of the show but trying to pretend she hasn't.
  • Still enjoyable ... but what's up with ITunes epi numbers?

I still enjoy this show, as I have for 5 decades (yes, I'm that old). Pearl Mackie is a great new companion and I hope she stays on after Capaldi "regenerates." But what's up with ITunes? Can no one there number episodes sequentially? Or is there some "curse" when using even numbers?
  • The Characters and Actors are Great.

It is the writing that is horrible. I cannot wait for the Long Dark Reign of Steven Moffat to come to an end.

I love the series so far it's amazing. Refreshing to have a new companion and you can tell the doctor is having fun again. I can't wait for more episodes but I'm sad this season is almost over. Looking forward to the Christmas special it's sad see peter go though. My favorite doctor so far.
