Description

Academy Award® nominee Matt Damon (The Bourne trilogy) stars in this action thriller about a man who glimpses the future Fate has planned for him – and chooses to fight for his own destiny. Battling the powerful Adjustment Bureau across, under and through the streets of New York, he risks his destined greatness to be with the only woman he's ever loved (Emily Blunt: The Young Victoria, The Devil Wears Prada). Based on a story by the legendary Philip K. Dick (Total Recall, Minority Report and Blade Runner), The Adjustment Bureau is “entertaining and thought-provoking”. — Katey Rich, CINEMABLEND.COM

  • The ending really

The ending is like a sudden deflator at the the critical movie climax point. Really let the movie down in one big dud at the end.
  • Exceedingly good, deserves NFR preservation

This is one of those films that prompt comments that reveal whether or not the reviewer actually got it or if they saw it as nothing but entertainment. The thing that makes this story special is that it acknowledges that on very rare occasions and for very few people it is possible to encounter situations so trully epic and otherworldly - things that reveal a level of grandeur and purpose that, while perhaps being normal in the next world, are almost never encountered while in this material world. It is reminiscent of Old Testament stories in which someone is chosen almost at random, interacts with a person or a group that God has his eye on, and sets things in motion that take years to unfold. The person chosen, while not being particularly remarkable, then exits the scene and vanishes from all records, but the result of his participation changes history. I rate this film along with Grand Canyon and Meet Joe Black as being one of the best "message" films out there. Regardless of box office, The Adjusement Bureau deserves a place in the National Film Registry. It needs to be preserved so that future generations can get this message.

Well paced & wonderfully cast! Enjoyed this film entirely. This is one of my favorite Emily Blunt films. She and Matt Damon have great chemistry! An unusual plot that is reminiscent of other films in the same genre from the TV series "Fringe" to movies like "Inception". It's a bit more fun though if you add the love chemistry betwen them. Enjoy the film (8.5/10)
  • I've watched it 6 or 7 times and still enjoy it!

I'm reading the reviews that didn't like it and the reason they didn't like it is because they didn't GET IT! It's a love story! I really enjoyed it and my wife did too!
  • Very Underdeveloped story line.

Damon and Blunt are fine actors and this could have been a very good movie. The concept is interesting, but the writing is simplistic, almost silly, and the plot very underdeveloped. It felt like the script was written over a week-end. It's OK to rent, but not all that entertaining. If have absolutely no other options, rent it, but it's definitely not worth buying.
  • More like the good reviews than the bad

Well acted, well paced, and enough of a plot to enjoy. Worth a rental. Strong performances from the leads, although that’s not a surprise. A bit too much exposition at some points, and a few Hollywood pitfalls that make some moments cute when they could be more than that, but overall it’s a good flick. More like Inception than a lot of what passes for sci-fi these days—sorry to disappoint but there are no torture scenes or explosions.
