Description

From the writer of "Bull Durham" and "White Men Can't Jump" comes this romantic comedy starring Academy Award-winner Kevin Costner ("Dances with Wolves,") and Rene Russo ("Get Shorty," "Outbreak"). Costner is a driving range pro and golf hustler whose legendary ball-striking skills are matched only by his self-destructive and low-life charm. His comfortable life of failure is turned upside down when he's smitten with a woman who comes in for golf lessons, and he sets out to qualify for the U.S. Open to prove to himself (and to her) that he's capable of heroic achievement. Co-starring Don Johnson and Cheech Marin.

This movie delivers — Costner has great chemistry with Cheech and Russo - - - Don Johnson is the perfect antagonist. Humor, clever banter with his caddy and girl… great for people who love golf and great for people who don’t. Bought this one, did not rent. Great go to movie for friends and family who are in town and haven’t seen it. Enjoy!
  • A movie on Par

For those who are familiar with Golf lingo, Par is how many strokes it takes to sink your ball, on average. For me, this film is on Par; in other words, it's not below par (above average), or above par (below average). In short, it's average. Though it is a bit long given the plot, it's still highly enjoyable because of the great ensemble cast and swingin' mojo of a soundtrack. As a golfer, I would definitely rate this one as right there with 'Caddyshack' as one of the most richly entertaining golf movies.
