Description

From Oscar-winning screenwriter of The Usual Suspects, this wickedly off-beat mix of crime, comedy and gunplay stars Ryan Phillippe and Academy Award winner Benicio Del Toro. Convinced they'll score big money fast by kidnapping a young surrogate mother (Juliette Lewis) carrying the child of a wealthy Southwestern couple, the two small caliber crooks soon run into major problems. Realizing too late that they're in over their heads, the kidnappers fight to keep their plan from unraveling amid rising time of bloodshed, mind games and greed.

It's pretty simple with this movie - if you like Tarantino's movies (I do), then you'll probably enjoy this movie (I did)..

Rented it cause of Benicio Del Toro. He's ok, but the rest of the acting is lacking. The plot is not that great, the action is mediocre. I would rent something else.

As fun as the first 5 minutes of this movie were it really didn't really fit with the entirety of the film. After about 20 minutes of the "plot" it quickly becomes clear that no one has any idea what is going on, least of all the audience. I really do like all of the people in this movie, but basically it has no single obvious direction, lots of little plots that don't add up, and one big shoot out for no real purpose. This really was written to be a bunch of short stories, with maybe only James Caan's character or Juliet Lewis crossing between them. Please, don't take this movie by the names on the cast list, it's not really up to any of their standards. I would rather it be 1 - 1.5 stars but it's not an option.
