Who doesn’t want to see a Star Trek: The Next Generation movie? Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of the Enterprise-E warp into superstardom with this installment. But beware, if you dare. The Borg have returned to assimilate Earth. They intend to do so by stopping Dr. Zefram Cochrane’s first contact with the Vulcans, a pivotal moment in human history. In order to defeat the Borg once again, Picard must come face to face with his ultimate dread: an unstoppable enemy that assimilated him six years prior. Alice Krige absolutely crushes the part of the Borg Queen. James Cromwell steals the show as Dr. Zefram Cochrane. Alfre Woodard delivers a great performance. The entire crew of the Enterprise is fantastic, as always. The new Sovereign-class Enterprise is a stunning beauty. The story is very solid. The set design and effects have stood the test of time. Jerry Goldsmith masterfully crafted the music for this performance. All in all, First Contact is Star Trek at its absolute best.

A lot of non-Star Trek fanatics who stumble upon a movie they actually like often preface their reviews with an apology for liking any. They say things like, “I know — Star Trek, right? But, seriously, this one is good...” I’ll have to admit, though, I’m that guy. Even still, this one is good...

Easily the best of the TNG films. Brings Picard’s story with the Borg to full circle. Data at his best ever.

This is definitely the second best feature of Star Trek of all, only behind of the greatest one, Wrath of Khan!

First Contact is to TNG what Wrath of Khan was to the Original Series.
