Oscar® nominee Ethan Hawke, in the most disturbing role of his career, stars in a new psychological thriller from Blumhouse and the director who brought you Sinister and Doctor Strange. Finney, a shy but clever 13-year-old boy, is abducted by a sadistic killer (Hawke) and trapped in a soundproof basement where screaming is of little use. When a disconnected phone on the wall begins to ring, Finney discovers that he can hear the voices of the killer's previous victims. And they are dead set on making sure that what happened to them doesn't happen to Finney.

I loved this movie. Ethan Hawk plays an awesome scary guy and the young actors did an excellent job. I was on edge the entire time!

Not what I thought it would be, rather strange, I want my my back. 😕😬
  • Just okay

The movie keeps you engaged in the many of the character stories with just a few scary jumps. It’s just okay and the 5.99 rent charge is better than paying the extra at the theater. If you’re expecting something scary similar to The Ring, Sinister or the Descent, then don’t bother renting it. This is more like “IT”
  • Average at best

Not sure where all the five star ratings came from…it was very underwhelming.
  • My daughter loves this.

My daughter has been in love with this movie since it came out, I’m not a big horror movie person so I didn’t understand why she liked it so much, she said it was the time period and the characters. Especially Vance (?) I don’t know I haven’t seen it but she says he’s really pretty and funny.
