Description

Milo Gibson (Hacksaw Ridge) and Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix) star in this inspirational true story of a small town high school football team who beat all the odds to win their state championship. After a crushing defeat ended their prior season, everyone counted the Abilene Eagles out of title contention. Facing doubts and personal challenges both on and off the field, it will take the guidance of their team chaplain (Gibson) and a surrogate father figure (Fishburne) for them to realize what they can achieve when they stand united as a team. In this uplifting underdog story, the Abilene Eagles will once again soar in an incredible comeback that will be forever remembered in sports history.

I enjoyed the story and there was a message of hope in the film. Appropriate for family viewing — mild violence but no bad language. The lesson that there is a higher power than all of us is on point.

This movie is a story of heart, determination, and a lifestyle of perseverance and resolve in which without a doubt I’d STRONGLY recommend. I seen this movie premier locally in Owatonna, MN and the crowd of well over 100 clearly walked away in good spirits and with positive feelings toward the movie. I advise you look past the opinion of “Pete’s Music”, as sometimes a feel good story isn’t enough to brighten up the worst of critics.

Awful movie. I couldn’t possibly finish it. Terrible acting, followed by a terrible plot. There’s nothing to enjoy about any part of this movie. This is a classic money grab on iTunes.

After watching the trailers seemed the movie would be on point. However, I was wrong. The acting was very poor on top of the constant video snippets of the football game. Nope, not for me but maybe if might be your ideal movie. I can’t even finish the movie quality was not good.
