Description

Lily (Susan Sarandon) and Paul (Sam Neill) summon their loved ones to their country beach house for one final gathering after Lily decides to end her life on her own terms after a long battle with ALS. The couple is planning a loving weekend complete with holiday traditions, but the mood becomes strained when unresolved issues surface between Lily and her daughters Jennifer (Kate Winslet) and Anna (Mia Wasikowska). Joining the collective farewell are Lily's son in law (Rainn Wilson), her lifelong friend (Lindsay Duncan), daughter's partner (Bex Taylor-Klaus) and grandson (Anson Boon). Her story is ultimately one of hope, love, and a celebration of life.

Yet again, more proof that Hollywood is a sewer and the actors are the turds...

Ok, on the positive side, you get a cast of great actors, in-depth story, relatable family problems, and some beautifully shot scenery. On the down side, it is never ok to romanticize suicide. On so many levels, this movie sends a wrong message about taking life in your own hands. It is utterly sad to see the main character asking herself the question, at the time of ending, ‘where am I going’? Don’t be fooled into believing there is no answer to that question. The answer is that there is a God, and his name is Jesus Christ. In Him there is love, peace, and eternal life for everyone who believes in him. In Him there is no fear of death, because in Him we have eternal life. Don’t wait with accepting Christ as Lord. It’s a free gift. God bless.

Not one funny thing in the whole movie. They dragged the overdone drama out till the bitter end. Go see “The Farewell”, instead.

Susan Sarandon is simply a powerhouse. A wonderul and so too important film. Bravo to Susan and the rest of the cast for their incredible and brave work. This is a film that will not be forgotten and to that I thank the cast and crew.

The best of 2020. movie I have seen all year! The Grandson and Mia’s Partner steal the show from “:The Heavy Hitters”.

Anything with Bex Taylor-Klaus is always 10/10, and getting to see her act with legends makes this movie even better.
