Description

In the near future, George Almore (Theo James) is working on a true human-equivalent AI. When his wife is tragically killed in a car accident, he becomes obsessed with the impossible: bringing her back to life. Her memories have been preserved thanks to the Archive, but only for so long. Meanwhile, the Archive company has caught on to George’s work and will stop at nothing to put an end to it – and him. In a race against time, George must defy scientific and ethical boundaries to save the one he loves most.

Really dislike movies that do 180 degrees at the end. The story plot was interesting until the last five minutes. Ugh.

Wow. Can’t believe how terrible this movie was. I’m glad the rental was only $0.99 since it’s movie of the week, but it’s not even worth that amount. Could plainly see the actor under the robot suit. I’d consider this an average B movie.

I've posted six reviews on this terrible movie and not one of them shows up on the reviews so I guess iTunes is manipulating the reviews to push this terrible movie.

Story wise it's obvious that the writer director here was heavily influenced by Moon, however Moon was a way better and way way more original script, like no comparison to this one here. The visuals here are good, I liked the FUI's and the - again - very Moon-like architecture, basically the same thing here. But and that really threw me off: I think the director's decision to put an actress in a robo-suit with make up and all was a mistake. Because you can tell that it's an actress in a robo suit with make up and all. And once she's getting upgraded it's even more obvious. Given the director's own skills and connections to CGI he should have done the woman robot in pure 3D, no question about that. Here Ex Machina is way way better visually, like that one was "wow" robo-wise. So all in all this one here is a lukewarm affair, somehow you can tell it was written with a limited budget in mind and even though it looks fine you can tell due to certain choices that it was produced on a limited budget. The twist in the end is ok albeit it feels a little bit (SPOILER ALERT) like a cheat and "it was all just a dream" kind of thing. And again you can feel the influence of Moon-twist, and the twist in Moon is so much better and logical and psychologically so much more devastating. Anyway, kudos for the effort.

Rehash of robot girlfriend. I stopped watching. Give it a try but keep your expectations low.

I dug it. Not everyone will but it is a solid sci-fi movie for sure. Great production and mood.

just finished watching. while a bit slower of a movie than i was expecting, it was always interesting. pretty well thought out. well acted. i did not see that end coming. in a year full of never-ending disappointments, this one was a pleasant surprise.
