    Takahata Sensei sure went out on top with his most refined and myseterious work yet. There’s an uneasy reminder that reverberates through the film of how mortal we are and he balances it with eye popping shinto visuals. In the Ghibli all time top 5 for sure.

    I’d searched for the digital versions of Ghibli’s creations so many times, I’d eventually stopped looking. Such a wonderful surprise to have stumbled upon so many, out of the blue. I love the fast-paced, busy, visually-packed, fantasy, action-adventure and sci-fi creations from Ghibli, but Princess Kaguya is an entirely separate entity. Quiet, beautifully executed, heartbreaking and fascinating from start to finish, this folktale is brought to life via watery pastel pallets and an exquisite soundtrack. Highly recommended for all, lovers of anime or not, the acting is equally wonderful and evocative in both versions, dubbed and subbed (ALL HD versions of Ghibli films include both; choose “Extras” from the play menu!)
