My husband and I watched the movie and loved it.

I’m sorry to say that this is possibly the worst movie I have ever sat and watched. Mind you.....not just the worst “baseball” movie I’ve ever watched - the worst movie I have watched. The thing is - I really wanted to like it - it was impossible. I have played baseball, coached baseball, umpired baseball and I can only suggest to you diehard baseball people out there - stay away.

This is wonderful film. It has an unexpected range of emotions. I felt like I was inside the world of the minor leagues where all the players struggle to rise above normal expectations. The struggles felt real and meaningful. The lead was fantastic ....with a moody brooding charisma that burns through the screen. I hope we see more of him. I read a New York Times review that missed the real power of this film. Trust me, this is one to watch when you want sink into a very good intellect film.

Digiorno the catcher is the greatest look of any character I've ever seen. A better catcher than Ham ever was.
