The best movie I’ve ever watched in my whole entire life! I’ll tell you the backstory of how I watched it. So I was at my grandma’s house and she asked me do you want to rent a movie, it was raining so I said sure. I looked on Dish and they had it for rent so I rented it.For the first 15 minutes I wasn’t really interested in it but as those minutes went by, I started to get interested in it.When I went back to my house I decided to swing by Target and get it on DVD. It had the digital code in it so I redeemed it on VUDU, Apple TV, and Movies Anywhere. I told my friends about it and they watched it and liked it probably 7/10. This was a pretty good movie to watch and I posted it on my podcast channel and on my YouTube channel. I was actually surprised it was a 20th Century Fox/ Disney movie. Please ignore the bad reviews and listen to mine. Please watch this movie peeps!!!!!!!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜œ

Some not great things about this movie, but mostly, I liked it. β€˜Funny almost the whole time’ but also really weird. Merlin? He is not one of the good parts of this movie, until he turns in Ian McKellen! Then he’s cool. So all in all, I’d say this movie is good, but not great, I mean, it’s certainly enjoyable... mostly it’s pretty good. Better then I thought it would be, but still not great.
  • Not As Good As Ratings Led Me To Believe

It is genuinely hard to leave a poor rating for this good-hearted endeavor by people who are probably all very nice and well-intentioned: This is story about being nice with very nice actors and a nice message. But the creativity, freshness, spontaneity and immersion of such movies as The Goonies and The NeverEnding Story just isn't in this film. Not only did everything seem stiff and forced and slow, but it lacks confidence and enthusiasm. There was no confidence in the audience's ability, even as children, to grasp the moral. The message is repeated--lectured, really--over and over and over again. There is one tone, one mood, and one direction throughout thus the story lacks rising tension. Its greatest achievement (not a spoiler) is taking two bullies and (almost magically, without much effort) convincing them to be kind and noble instead (this description of that sounds better than how it played out). There are some enjoyable moments but the main battles are too unbelievable for adults and probably too scary for children. The excessively-rasping-evil voice of the antagonist had me cringing every time she was on screen. Meanwhile, our heroes looking stiff and overstuffed in their puffy down jackets and toy helmets seemed somehow symbolic of the movie's main flaw. I truly do hate to be overly critical to such a very NICE movie. Ergo the 3 stars. Then again, underestimating your audience's intelligence (yes, even children are intelligent and probably don't appreciate such scary ladies and fiery minions anyhow), isn't the nicest thing to do, is it?
