Description

Since WWII, Calvin Barr has lived with the secret that he was responsible for the assassination of Adolf Hitler. Now, decades later, the US government has called on him again for a new top-secret mission. Bigfoot has been living deep in the Canadian wilderness and is carrying a deadly plague that is now threatening to spread to the general population. Relying on the same skills that he honed during the war, Calvin must set out to save the free world yet again. Starring Sam Elliott, Aidan Turner, Caitlin FitzGerald and Ron Livingston, The Man Who Killed Hitler and Then the Bigfoot follows the epic adventures of an American legend that no one has ever heard of.

I don’t recall ever seeing a movie where the filmmakers were more confused about what kind of picture they were making. One of the worst movies I have ever seen.

Caught by the title, which sums up the two major events in the movie. It’s all upfront, you know what’s going to happen. But there is much more to it, themes of loneliness, loss, desire, love, fear, and probably some others sprinkled here and there. And the way that Calvin got to where he was and what he left behind sew the story together, with flashbacks and clean cinematography. Don’t expect a movie that screams ‘Hollywood’ (c’mon, the title, remember?) and you might end up like me, pleasantly surprised.
  • The worst movie I have seen in a very long time

The title sounded fun, the trailer looked interesting; however, this film was a waste of two hours I wish I could have back. The story is disjointed, the plot lines unrelated and the film makes ridiculous leaps in time and plot. Stay away from this one.

Watch in wonder as you attempt to reconcile the 74% Tomatometer score with this utterly boring movie.

This was a wonderful diversion from the garbage Hollywood has been relentlessly bombarding us till you want to scream. The main character had character, and didn’t fit any of the formulas for modern movie success. If you’ve lived, loved, fought, and suffered, you just might get it. If you’re one of those who didn’t get it, who cares, these’s a whole factory of mindless movies on they’re way for you to watch and forget. This one I’ll remember.

I thought this would be a quirky, unusual independent film, but it came across like a bad student film. Terrible plot and the directing was horrendous.

Who would think a Sam Elliot movie could be so bad? This one is. Don't waste your time or money. Terrible.
  • Seriously bad

I stopped halfway through. It would be a waste to invest anymore time into this movie through writing a long review.
