Description

Three-time Academy Award® winner Ang Lee brings his extraordinary vision to Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, based on the widely-acclaimed, bestselling novel. The story is told from the point of view of 19-year-old private Billy Lynn (Joe Alwyn) who, along with his fellow soldiers in Bravo Squad, becomes a hero after a harrowing battle in Iraq and is brought home temporarily for a victory tour. Through a sequence of flashbacks the truth about what really happened is revealed – contrasting the realities of the war with America’s distorted perceptions of heroism. Co-starring Kristen Stewart, Chris Tucker, Garrett Hedlund, with Vin Diesel, and Steve Martin.

I tried really hard to line this. Turned out to be a mockery of Texans and patriots.

This is so gripping and epic and it is one of the best war movies ever made this like nothing I have ever seem it was good and sad the scene were he comes home from war and his mom hugs him made me want to burst in to tears because it made me think about those how can’t come home but besides that this is a war classic
  • Easily one of the worst war movies of all time...

...probably one of the worst Kristen Stewart movies which is really saying something. This film is condescending to all military with its wildly simplistic portrayal of the hardships servicemembers face in combat and at home. This movie appears to be what a bunch of Hollywood suits think war is like without so much as a conversation with those who lived it. Dumb luck should have brought them better proximity to the truth than this film ever realizes. It is as if they purposely misrepresented honest introspection at every turn.

This isn't a 'war' movie folks - thus the title. Garrett Hedlund was fantastic.

This is not a popcorn movie, it carries something much deeper and serious. For most of those one star reviews, it's irony because the movie predicted exactly that, people want to see what they want to see. Ang Lee don't make movie for money, it shows his ambition and courage. Recommended.

I don't know where to begin. From the sloppy uniform representations to just inaccurate information being conveyed in this movie. This movie does a huge disservice to the men and women who have served by portraying them as crazy and undisciplined.

Well...I'm never getting my time back for watching this movie. The idea and some moments regarding the trans state of which the mind works were fine...however, the movie slowly missed its mark as it progresses leaving me shaking my head. "Nice try" is all I can muster.
